Dortmund Defender Bensebaini Beats Star-Studded Field to Win Algerian Player of the Year Award

November 12 – Algerian football media platform *La Gazette du Fennec* recently presented its inaugural "Fennec d'Or" (Golden Fennec Award), with Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini named Algerian Player of the Year at a ceremony held in Paris.
The jury highlighted Bensebaini's technical ability, physical strength, elegance, and consistency as key reasons for his selection. The Dortmund player edged out several high-profile compatriots for the honor, including VfL Wolfsburg forward Mohamed Amine Amoura, Al-Ahli's Riyad Mahrez, Marseille striker Amine Gouiri, and Manchester City defender Rayan Aït-Nouri.
Bensebaini joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2023. This season, he has made 14 appearances across the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and UEFA Champions League, contributing two goals and one assist.
