Jules Koundé Scores Brace as Barcelona Rally to Beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 in Champions League

Defender Jules Koundé produced a stunning second-half brace to inspire FC Barcelona to a 2-1 comeback victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League group stage at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday night.
Eintracht struck first in the 21st minute through Ansgar Knauff, who finished calmly after a swift counter-attack exposed Barcelona’s high defensive line. The German side looked comfortable defending their lead until the interval.
The turnaround arrived early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Koundé rose highest to power home a header from a Raphinha corner. Just three minutes later, the French international repeated the feat, meeting another precise delivery from the Brazilian winger to complete an unlikely double and send the home bench into raptures.
The 27-year-old’s two goals – his first ever in the Champions League – secured all three points for Hansi Flick’s side and strengthened their position in the group standings. Barcelona dominated possession and created numerous chances after the break, with Eintracht goalkeeper Kauã Santos forced into several smart saves.
The result extends Barcelona’s strong recent form in Europe and keeps them firmly in contention for direct qualification to the round of 16. Eintracht Frankfurt remain in the hunt but will rue their inability to hold onto the first-half advantage.
