Young Scottish Striker Rory Wilson Joins Sturm Graz on Loan from Aston Villa

Talented 20-year-old Scottish forward Rory Wilson has completed a loan move from Premier League side Aston Villa to Austrian Bundesliga champions SK Sturm Graz, as confirmed by reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The straight loan deal, running until the end of the 2025/26 season, sees no transfer fee or purchase option involved. Wilson, who joined Villa's academy from Rangers in 2022, has impressed at youth levels with over 30 goals in recent U18 and U21 campaigns, including seven strikes in 12 appearances this term.
With first-team opportunities limited at Villa Park due to a competitive forward line, the move provides Wilson his first taste of senior professional football abroad. Sturm Graz, currently pushing for a third consecutive league title under manager Jürgen Säumel, sought additional attacking depth following recent squad changes and their Europa League exit.
The young Scot, capped at various youth international levels, aims to gain regular minutes in one of Europe's competitive domestic leagues. Austrian fans welcomed the arrival, with the club announcing: "Welcome to Graz, Rory Wilson!"Aston Villa view the temporary switch as ideal for his development, expecting him to return stronger for the 2026/27 campaign. This transfer highlights growing pathways for British prospects in continental football.
